Prof. P.Ragunathan and Dr.Mrs.Geeth Ragunath are the founders of Geeth Ragunath Hospital. Dr.Geeth Ragunath hails from a remote village who was the first female educationalist from the surrounding villages. She started OPD in Attur at Rangasamy naicker street in 1977, with a single bed laid in the OPD. “ It was a need of the hour ” to start the In-Patient service rather than a business proposition when the first delivery was conducted on a bench. The first In-Patient block with 6 beds was started in Kamarajanar Road,Attur.

       In 1980, the In-Patient block evolved into Sundar Surgical Nursing Home at Gandhi Nagar,Attur. It was the first hospital with bath attached single room concept, built in 1984. The operation theatre started in 1984 was a revolution in that small, gradually developing town. Many complex , surgical & Medical problems were cured and lots of lives were saved which would die on their mid - way to Salem, a big town, then. Surgeons and Anaesthesiologists landed from salem, for the first two years and were taken over by the surgeons of Attur later on. It groomed into a Multi-speciality hospital in 1985 with various specialities namelyPaediatrics,General Surgery,General Medicine,Obstetrics & Gynaecology,Psychiatry and orthopaedics. Well – equipped ,Modern Neonatal Intensive care Unit ( NICU ) which was first in Attur was a boon to our Newborns.

        Our hospital produces trust – worthy, hard working & dedicated staffs. Prof . P.Ragunathan Memorial block ( with Deluxe & A/C Deluxe rooms ) was opened in 2008. We laid the video colposcopy unit,Laproscopic Surgical unit,Echo cardiogram & TMT. Super Speciality OPD’s started in 2014. Yeomen service and genuineness of our hospital doctors are the factors of our success. 24 hours primary care hospital is now evolving into a Super-Speciality hospital. Because of our dedication & commitment towards our noble profession,from a single bedded OPD, it has grown into a super – speciality hospital.
